Fix-a-Fence Repair Bracket – Can it Fix a Leaning Fence?

Fix a Fence Kit for DIY Repairing fence Phttps://www.fencepostfix.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=pageosts

Do you have a leaning fence post with a non-supporting concrete footing – or no concrete at all? You may be able to use a Fix-a-Fence Repair Bracket to pour a new concrete footing WITHOUT having to remove the fence post.

This simple (yet genius!) fence support bracket allows some homeowners to sidestep a major fence repair. Basically, you can install a brand new concrete footing while leaving the existing 4×4 post right where it is.

Whether your wood post has suffered from wind, rain or insect damage, the Fix-a-Fence can offer a viable, inexpensive solution. In fact, it may even have a stronger structural integrity than when the fence was initially installed.

These heavy-duty brackets may not be cheap. However, compared to the time and effort required to replace a rotting fence post and dig a new footing, some people consider this option priceless. =)

Note: There is a caveat to this method, though. For instance, if your fence has been built up against a concrete walkway or patio, you may not have the space to dig a footing hole.

Therefore, you want to measure the area surrounding your fence post to make sure you have adequate space to dig.

How to Install a this Fence Post Repair Bracket:

First of all, you can complete this DIY home improvement project in under an hour (excluding time needed for concrete to set). In addition, this fence post bracket system requires no major power tools.

That said, you will need to dig a hole for a new concrete footing and then mix and pour the concrete. It does require more work than something like an EZ Mender or a Post Buddy fence repair kit.

Tools & Materials Needed:

  • Ratchet or Drill
  • 7/16″ Socket (wood)
  • 3/8″ Nut Driver (metal)
  • 15/16″ Socket or Adjustable Wrench
  • Post Hole Digger or Shovel
  • Wheelbarrow or 5 Gallon Bucket
  • Level
  • Measuring Tape

Furthermore, the quick 3-minute video below demonstrates how to set up the metal bracket without ever having to remove the existing fence post. In other words, you can minimize the time and effort it requires to fix a leaning fence. =)

Repairing a Leaning Fence Post in 6 Steps:

1. Start by removing the red plug from anchor section. Then, bolt the anchor section to channel brace using the supplied 5/8″ bolt. Tighten firmly.

2. Next, you’ll mark the center of the new hole you want to dig by measuring 8″ out from the edge of the damaged post.

3. Then, dig the hole for your new concrete footing, 18″ deep by 6″ in diameter.

4. When you’ve finished digging, place the assembled Fix-A-Fence in the hole, with the base against the bottom of the post.

5. Mix the 60 lb. bag of concrete and fill the hole with concrete to the base of the channel brace. Plumb Fix-A-Fence with a level, and allow the concrete to set.

6. Once the concrete has hardened, secure the fence post to the Fix-a-Fence using the included lag screws.

As you can see, the Fix-a-Fence design enables you to use the steel bracket to support a variety of different structures or materials. In other words, you don’t have to fit the bracket around a 4×4 wood post.
